Self-love is regard for one’s own well-being and happiness. Not in a selfish, mean spirited way, but an appreciative manner. February has for long been known as the month of love with of course, Valentines Day falling on the 14th, a day mainly recognized for lovers. But can we truly say we love someone without loving ourselves? I, as Mwalimu Rachel, will be appreciating and loving ,myself throughout this month and I welcome you to do the same. Let us take this journey of self-love and discovery together. Every week, we shall focus on US. What we like, our flaws, and hopefully ACCEPT ourselves for who we are, and what we are not, maybe even be brave enough to flaunt our imperfections. We shall shun negativity and shock those who have been putting us down by telling them that enough is enough and we deserve a better friend, lover, colleague, boss… It won’t be easy to look at that guy/chic in the mirror, but if we want to make the world a better place we need to take a look at ourselves and make that change…In the words of Michael Jackson.
