#TTT- You Don’t Have To Know It All!

It’s Tripple Threat Tuesday! Yaani #TTT where I post 3 stories pap! You can read them all at once or save one for later! Your choice.

If in the year 2007 you told me it will take 10 years for my brand to be established, that that’s when major opportunities would come my way, I probably would have given up. Can you imagine? Ati 10 whoooole years ndio nione matokeo? Ai boss wacha nianze hustle ingine tu. 10 years seems like an eternity! LOL. But 10 years is how old Homeboyz Radio is (still can’t believe it!) 10 years makes a good whiskey, 10 years makes amazing wine.

Why am I telling you this?

It’s because when we start off on a new venture or just in life in general, we want to know what our fate holds. Will I be successful? Will I make money? Will I find true love? Will I be a good parent? We all want to know. That’s why some of us go to fortune tellers who read our palms and so on. But what if put it to you that you don’t  shouldn’t need all that? There is bliss in not knowing. There is excitement. There is taking chance. Making your own rules as you go. That is life at its best.

When starting a business for example, you are told you should come up with a business plan. And yes, that plan is important. That plan shows you the possibilities of things going wrong. That awareness is important for you to be and stay alert. Many times the fear of not knowing or knowing very little makes us think we will fail. That I need to know how to project my business onto the next 5-10 years for me to be a serious entrepreneur. I put it to you that many successful entrepreneurs just started. They had their vision as a compass and their passion as the engine. They just started and along the way as they made mistakes, some that cost them a whole lot, they learnt to be better. I personally don’t have a proper laid out business plan for MRX Media. I just know where I want it to be and what I aim to achieve. Bas! Will I gather more info as I go along? Of course! I am very open to that. There are those among us who seem to have it all figured out. More power to them that everything makes sense while some of us are still trying to put together our pieces. They talk big about how their companies will be worth this by 2022, how they are projecting their profits to be in the regions of millions and then they turn to you and dare ask, “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?” My fren. 5 years is a long time! I just want to be alive.

Why am I telling you this?

So you can be encouraged. You don’t have to have it all figured out as you start. Enjoy and respect the process that sharpens you to be who you will be in years to come. You just have to keep on going. Accept when one method isn’t working, shift and change the pieces in the board game of life, seek guidance from those that are realistic, and forge forward. In everything, life is not a sprint, it’s a step at a time.

Were/are you going through something that is overwhelming? Let’s discuss the remedy. Kindly share your story and help someone here.
