Many times I find myself juggling tasks/projects in my hustle both at work and in my personal business that really get me stressed. I am that person who wants to get everything done and done NOW. Lol. Crazy I know! I am working on that as we speak we’re in this together- and that is why I want to share with you some of the things I have found out from the little research I have done on setting priorities-where does one start?

1. Write it Down.
Create a list of all the things to be done in that day in no particular order and don’t worry about the number of things either.
2. What’s Urgent and What’s Important?
Now we, (we are in this together remember?) need to get down to identifying what needs to be tackled FIRST- that means if not handled ASAP! there will be serious negative consequences. That economy paper due in a day perhaps? That report to be sent to client by end of day? Booking of that Music Room artist? Yeah, that.
3. Do the Hardest Now.
We all have that thing we have been procrastinating because in our minds, it’s hard. Yaani it will take so much of our energy and time. That is what needs to be handled first. Why you wonder? Because it eliminates the nagging dread that will sap energy away from other tasks as you postpone the inevitable. SIGH. Guess I have to find time and get that monkey off my back.

4. FOCUS!

Only look at what will drive growth for your hustle. Of the thousands of things and ideas that boggle our entrepreneurial mind, about 100 will indeed improve your company — but maybe just 5 have the potential for exponential growth. Focus on those few, and the rest, well, take them to the cross. Hata Yesu alisema.

5. Be Flexible and Adapt.
Life (sh*t) happens. We all know this. You have planned to dive in and get work done on your computer for the day and there’s a black out. What do you do? Sit and wait? Or look at what else is on the to do list that doesn’t require electricity? That’s right. Adapt and move on to the next.
Unless it’s like something super super important SEE POINT 2! Then you need to get your behind to a cyber and get it done!

Here’s to us setting our priorities and them working for us!

Love. Live. Learn.
