So 13th October is #NoBraDay.
No Bra day is a call to action asking ladies across the world to spend the day without a bra. The end game is apparently to create awareness about breast cancer.
The hashtag was a top trend on Twitter, the whole day! Those of you who went through the tweets noticed a variety of posts:
The informative ones:
Ladies! You can do this at home yourselves #NoBraDay >>>>>> pic.twitter.com/lDSBARMkDn

The trolls dissing a couple of people… LOL!:

The outright nasty ones (I didn’t even want to embed this tweet; it’s so naaaasty! But I need to make a point):

Which got me questioning: What exactly is the point of #NoBraDay? I get that it was created to spread awareness about breast cancer, but does it really remind us to get screened regularly?
When you see these #NoBraDay pics of boobs, does it make YOU want to get screened? — Mwalimu Rachel. (@MwalimuRachel) October 13, 2015
What if I started the #BOOBS. Would that make you want to go get screened for breast cancer?

Anyway, I’m still not convinced about how effective it is, but this tweet resonates with me:
Wanna post a #NoBraDay pic? Remove your bra. WEAR a T-Shirt. Take a pic. Post a pic. Don’t post nude pics. Respect yourself and your body.
